Race Overview

Clemson Z Run is a 4k obstacle course.  This is an untimed event.  The object is to not get eaten by zombies.

Rules of Survival

  • Prior to the race you will recieve a race belt containing 2 "lives."  These flags represent your health.

  • The goal of the race is to complete the course with at least 1 life still attached to your belt.

  • The zombies on the course are trying to eat your brains.  They accomplish this by stealing your flags.

  • If you lose your flags, you have been infected by zombies.  This does not mean you cannot finish or that you become a zombie or that you can take other runners flags.

  • Flags MUST be visable on race belt at all times. NO HIDING FLAGS!

  • Additional lives can also be purchased on site.  Proceeds will benefit Helping Hands of Clemson.

  • We have clueless, crawlers, and rager zombies on course.  While most zombies move and react slowly, be wary of rager zombies on the course as well.  These zombies move and react much quicker than the clueless and crawlers.  Be ready to sprint!  They may chase you for short distances.

  • There are no losers in this race!  Only zombies and soon to be zombies.

The Race Course

  • The course is approximately 4k in distance.  It will involve some tricky terrain as well as 10-15 natural and man-made obstacles.

  • There will be zombies all over the course.  Don't get too close.  They are trying to eat your brains and take your flags.

  • The course will wind through Nettles Park, over the zombie infested bridge to Patrick Square and back into the park before you finish on the lower softball fields.

Survival Tips

  • Safety in numbers.  Some areas are highly infested and easier to navigate as a pack.  You will have a higer survival rate if you can use other runners to your advantage.

  • Conserve energy while running.  Having something left in the tank for a quick sprint or dodge can be the difference between survival or infection.
